Rize 16

Rize is a province of north-east Turkey, on the eastern Black Sea coast between Trabzon and Artvin. Also my next place to travel was Trabzon.

Rize is a nice place with endless forests. You can see every tone of green. It was amazing. Unfortunately we stayed in this city only one day. We went to Ayder meadow and amazing mountain valleys : Fındıklı Çağlayan Valley.


You see in this photo Çağlayan Valley. The climate is typical of the Black Sea coast, 6 months of dark cloud, 4 months overcast, six weeks of light cloud and 19 days of sunshine, with light rain at some point during every one of the 365 days of the year. These conditions are ideal for the crops that drive the local economy; tea, hazelnuts and some other fruits, 32,000 tons of tea each year and 750 tons of hazelnuts. Other produce includes milk, meat, eggs, honey and fish, and the new development is the planting of kiwi fruit.

You cannot use your regular car on these roads. I is so rocky. So we hired some small busses to climb. I was amazing. We could see the river by the road and also on the other side endless forest..

In this place there is no public utilities except generator.. The is no cellphone connection only nature and you..
